Hoya Clemensiorum Aceh
Plant Description
1. Watering (Watering)
Hoya is more prone to death due to too much water than lack of water. Main rule: Do not water every day. Water thoroughly until the water flows from under the pot, then let the planting medium dry completely before watering again. Check the humidity: Use a skewer or finger to check the depth of the soil. If it is still damp, postpone watering.
2. Planting Media and Pot
As an epiphyte plant that usually attaches to trees, Hoya roots need a lot of air and good circulation. Use a mixture of porous planting media such as a mixture of cocopeat, pine bark, perlite, charcoal husk, or fern. Make sure your pot has a good drainage hole at the bottom to prevent the roots from rotting.
3. Lighting
Hoya likes bright and indirect light. Direct sunlight that is too hot can burn the leaves (make them burn or fade), but light that is too dim will slow down growth. Place it near a window facing east or shade the net (paranet) if placed outdoors.
4. Temperature and Humidity
This plant comes from the tropics, so it likes a warm and humid environment. The ideal temperature ranges from 16°C to 27°C. Make sure the humidity of the surrounding air is maintained. You can put Hoya among other larger plants or put a tray filled with water and pebbles nearby.
5. Hoya Fertilization does not need a lot of nutrients, but you can still give fertilizer to stimulate growth. Give organic liquid fertilizer or NPK balanced fertilizer (which is diluted to half the normal dose) every 2 to 4 weeks during the growth period (spring/hot season).
